Dear Saga Respite for Carers Trust,

Now back to Blighty with a bump. It is cold here but the sun is still shining. The Caribbean sunshine is keeping me warm and will sustain me for many months to come. I had a great time and laughed an awful lot. In fact I don’t think I’ve laughed so hard and loud for years. I made some friends who I hope to keep in touch with and there are some really good after-dinner stories that I can regale Charlotte (I have been) and my Edinburgh friends with. Charlotte had a fun week too. She had friends over to supper (they did the cooking) - a Downton Abbey evening and the manicurist. A truly girly week without the old man to moan about the noise. So thank you very, very much – it’s a wonderful thing to do for people. Yours must be a great job, cheering up all those carers, we soldier on but this is a gift that none of us ever expect, thank you.
