Your personal ad should appear on www.saga.co.uk/connections within 2 days.
If you would prefer to dictate the text of your personal ad rather than having our copywriters write it for you, there is an option to do so at the end of the placement process.
As long as you got as far as acquiring a 6 digit box number, you should be able to call back in on the placement number and pick up where you left off.
The hash key is the # symbol that appears under the 9 key on your telephone keypad. By using it when prompted, you will be able to navigate your way around the system.

SAGA Connections – some helpful information
SAGA Connections is a good way to meet new people, whether you're looking for friends, love or just fun. It is a telephone–based service that's easy to use, safe and it's free to place a personal advert.

Placing a personal ad
To place your own personal ad for people to respond to, simply call free on 0800 839 120 and our automated system will guide you through the process. Have a pen and paper ready as you will need to take down your unique box number and pin code. You will need to leave us a few contact details and also a message about yourself for other readers to hear.
Alternatively you can place an advert by text message. Send a text message to 83010 starting with SCDate followed by a space and then your advert. Example:
SCDate Intelligent F, 55,
into travel, dining out
& cooking. WLTM M,
55-65, warm, friendly,

Be sure to include your age & location in your ad! You will also receive alerts to telephone messages.
Your personal details remain confidential at all times, but SAGA readers interested in your personal ad will be able to leave you a private voice message or send you a text message. You decide who you wish to call back or send a text message to – in complete confidence. Our team of professional copywriters will then compose a written personal ad for you that will appear in next month's issue (space permitting) and also online at www.saga.co.uk/connections.
Retrieving messages left for you
Once you have placed your personal ad, you can listen to any voice messages that have been left for you free of charge, once every seven days by calling 0800 839 120. Simply key in your 6 digit box number and 4 digit pin code when prompted and any messages left will be played to you. If you wish to retrieve messages more often than once a week, you can call 0906 753 8877.
Responding to personal ads
If you see a personal ad that interests you in SAGA connections you can leave the advertiser a personal message in his or her private mailbox. Make a note of the 6 digit box number that appears next to the personal ad and call 0906 753 8877. Select the reply option (option 1) from the menu and when prompted, key in the box number of the personal ad you are interested in. You will then be able to hear the voice greeting of the advertiser. If you like what you hear and want to leave a message for them, leave your name, a contact telephone number and a message about yourself and if they want to get in touch, they'll give you a call.
Text message replies can only be sent to ads with a 
symbol next to them. Make sure that the ad that interests you has a symbol and make a note of the 6 digit box number that appears next to the advert. To send a text message reply to that advertiser, you should start your text message with the letters SC followed by a space, the ad's 6 digit box number followed by a space, your message & send to 88010. For example:
SC (space) 123456 (space)
Hi, saw your advert.
I like dancing
& cruises too.
Fancy a chat?
Send this text message to 88010.
Your mobile number remains confidential and is not revealed to the advertiser in this communication. The advertiser receives your text message reply direct to their mobile (no waiting!) and will send you a text reply in return if want to contact you.
Browsing personal ads
You can also browse all personal ads in the database, selecting personal ads from the location of your choice. Dial 0906 753 8877 and select option 2 from the menu.
Cost of using SAGA Connections
CALL COSTS: Calls to 09067 numbers cost 75p per minute at all times (BT Premium Rate). Calls to 0800 numbers are free from BT landlines. 0871 number cost 10p per minute at all times. Please note that payphones & non BT network providers may charge higher rates. TEXT MESSAGE COSTS: You are charged 25p (reverse-billed by confirmation message) + your usual network text charges to place an ad via text. You will be charged 50p per text message received from, & returned to, respondents and for each text message alert. You can cancel the service at any time. Cost of reply to an ad by text message is £1.50 per text message (reverse–billed by confirmation message). All text messages will be charged for including any error messages. Text messages sent are charged at normal network rates. All text messages sent must be no more than 160 characters. SMS shortcodes are reverse–bill charged at the following rates: 83010 – 25p; 85010 – 50p; 88010 – £1. Available on O2, T–Mobile, Vodafone, Orange, Virgin & 3.
