Place an advert by phone for FREE
Simply call 0800 839 120.
- After leaving a few details about yourself, please make a note of the 6 digit box number and Passcode allocated to you.
- You will then be able to record your voice greeting. Relax, be yourself and give plenty of information about your likes and dislikes as well as the type of person you are hoping to meet. A well thought out voice greeting will not only increase the number of replies you get, but will also encourage the right people to reply. You may find it helpful to make a few notes before you begin recording.
- For your own security, please do not leave your surname, address or telephone number in your voice greeting.
- Your ad will be screened and a short advert specially written for you by one of our copy–writing team, based on what you say in your voice greeting. If you want to write your own advert, there is an option to do so during the ad placement process.
- Your voice greeting will be placed on our Browse Hotline within 24 hours, giving people the chance to listen and reply before the ad appears on the Connections web site (about 1 week).
Place an advert by text message
Send a text message to 83010 starting with SCDATE followed by a space and then your advert. Example:
SCDATE Intelligent F, 55,
into travel, dining out
& cooking. WLTM M,
55-65, warm, friendly,
intelligent gentleman.

Be sure to include your age & location in your ad! You will also receive text alerts to let you know when somebody leaves you a voice reply.
Calls to 0800 numbers are free from BT landlines. Other network and mobiles may vary. To place an ad by text costs 25p (by return message) + usual network charges. All text messages sent must be no more than 160 characters. Advertisers are charged 50p per text message received from, & returned to, respondents and for each text message alert to voicemail.
Collecting your messages
If you are an advertiser and wish to collect your messages, here's what to do.
- Make sure you have a pen and paper handy to take down any contact details BEFORE you dial in.
- You can retrieve your messages FREE of charge, once a week by calling 0800 839 120.
- You will need to enter your box number and Passcode when prompted. The system will then tell you how many messages you have. Each message will be played one at a time and you will be able to hear it as many times as you wish before moving on to the next.
- If you have used your weekly free message collection via the 0800 number, you can still retrieve additional messages by dialing 0906 753 8877.
- Text Messages Alerts can be sent straight to your mobile to let you know you have new messages to pick up. For this text message service please follow the instructions whilst placing an Advert.
Calls to 09067 numbers cost 75p per minute at all times (BT Premium Rate). Please note that payphones & non BT network providers may charge higher rates. You will be charged 50p for each text message alert.
