Reply to an Advert
You now have a choice as to how you reply to personal adverts: either by leaving a traditional spoken reply or by sending a text message reply. Please note that whilst all adverts can receive a spoken reply, only ads with a 
symbol can receive a text message reply.
Listen and reply to an advert
Simply call 0800 839 120.
If you see an ad that interests you and wish to listen to the advertiser's voice greeting, here's what to do:
- First, make a note of the 6 digit box number which appears at the end of the advert.
- Then, simply call 0906 753 8877 and select option 1 from the main menu.
- You will be asked to enter the box number of the advert that interests you.
- A personal voice greeting recorded by the advertiser will now be played to you, telling you more about themselves and the type of person they are hoping to meet.
- If you like what you hear, you can then leave the advertiser a private message with your name and contact details.
- Alternatively, you may choose to enter a new 6 digit box number and listen to a different advertiser.
Calls to 09067 numbers cost 75p per minute at all times (BT Premium Rate). Please note that payphones & non BT network providers may charge higher rates.
Text message replies
With our new mobile text facility, you can now send advertisers a reply by text message
Text message replies can only be sent to ads with a symbol next to them. Make sure that the ad that interests you has a symbol and make a note of the 6 digit box number that appears next to the advert. To send a text message reply to that advertiser, you should start your text message with the letters SC followed by a space, the ad's 6
digit box number followed by a space, your message & send to 88010. For
example:
SC (space) 123456 (space)
Hi, saw your advert.
I like dancing & cruises
too. Fancy a chat?
Send this text message to 88010.
Your mobile number remains confidential and is not revealed to the advertiser in this communication. The advertiser receives your text message reply direct to their mobile (no waiting!) and will send you a text reply in return if want to contact you.
To reply to an ad by text costs £1 (by return message) + usual network charges. All text messages sent must be no more than 160 characters. Advertisers are charged 50p per text message received from, & returned to, respondents and for each text message alert to voicemail.
