In a year’s time, the tiny Bavarian village of Oberammergau will perform the 41st Passion Play. Preparations have already begun in earnest for this momentous occasion, which takes place only once every ten years.
Casting for the roles has now been finalised and preparations are well underway with rehearsals due to start in September. We are pleased to bring you details of this, as well as some of our holidays to Oberammergau.

Jesus will be played by Frederick Mayet who played John in the 2000 production, sharing the role with Andreas Richter |

Martin Norz who played Jesus in both 1990 and 2000 will now play Judas along with Carsten Luck |

Ursula Burkhart and Andrea Hart will be playing Mary, both having played the role in past performances |

Also premiering on July 3, 2009 will be The Plague, a play that has been performed the year before each passion play since 1933. Many of the lead performers in the Passion Play next year will be acting in this production as well, performing in the Passion Play theatre. |
