Dental Care
|
| Benefit will be paid at the applicable
rate, up to the maximum benefit per eligible person in
each benefit year. |
Optical Care
|
| Benefit will be paid at the applicable
rate, up to the maximum for each eligible person in each
benefit year. This benefit applies to sight test, spectacles,
contact lenses, (not solutions or optical care plans)
and laser eye surgery at an approved clinic. |
Hearing Aid
|
| Benefit is payable at the applicable
rate, up to the maximum per eligible person in each benefit
year, for new hearing aids supplied by a registered hearing
aid dispenser. |
Health Consultations
|
| Payable per eligible person for diagnostic
consultations with a medical or surgical specialist holding
consultant status, in an NHS or registered private hospital.
Benefit is also payable for x-rays, ECG, blood test and
other routine pathology laboratory tests directly connected
with the consultation. |
Therapy and
complementary therapy benefits
|
| Benefit will be paid at the applicable
rate, up to the maximum benefit per eligible person in
each benefit year for physiotherapy, osteopathy, chiropractic
treatment, chiropody, acupuncture and homeopathy. The
practitioner must be registered with an approved professional
organisation recognised by Saga. |
Hospital
day-case surgery
|
| Benefit is payable at the applicable
rate, per eligible person up to 10 occasions in each benefit
year, following admission for scheduled surgery performed
under anaesthetic, in an operating theatre. Out-patient
treatment is not included. |
Hospital
in-patient
|
|
This is payable per eligible person
on discharge from an NHS or registered private hospital.
A maximum of 100 days' benefit may be claimed in each
benefit year, however, any single period of hospitalisation, even those involving stays in more than one hospital, is subject to a maximum of 20 nights benefit. Claims for treatment outside the EU, rehabilitation,
geriatric and psychiatric treatment, are subject to a
20 night maximum.

Recuperation
grant
|
| Payable once in each benefit year
per eligible person, following a stay in hospital of at
least 10 consecutive nights. |
Home help
|
| Benefit will be paid at the applicable
rate, up to the maximum per eligible person in each benefit
year, from home help services provided by a Local Authority
or an agency contracted directly by a Local Authority.

Home nursing
|
| Benefit will be paid at the applicable
rate, up to the maximum per eligible person in each benefit
year, in respect of home nursing by a state registered
nurse supplied by a registered agency on the recommendation
of the patient's doctor. |
Health
screening
|
| Benefit is payable at the applicable
rate, up to the maximum per eligible person in each benefit
year, for health screening undertaken by medically qualified
staff for wellwoman, wellman, mammography, osteoporosis
and heart disease screening. |
Allergy
testing
|
| Benefit is payable at the applicable
rate, up to the maximum per eligible person in each benefit
year, in respect of allergy testing carried out at an
allergy clinic. |
Accidental Death Benefit
|
| Benefit is payable if the person insured dies as a result of an accidental bodily injury, this benefit is not available to children under the age of 18 |

| What is
not covered? |
- There is a 13-week qualifying period from when you
join before you may claim any benefit under the plan, unless you have a cover plan with another provider.
- If you, or a person you wish to be covered, has an
existing medical condition please declare it on the
application form. You will not be able to claim hospital
related benefits for treatment of the condition for
a period of two years from joining.
