Terms & Conditions

Like most insurance policies, conditions, limits and exclusions will apply to the cover provided. Please ensure that you read the information below carefully and that the cover provided is suitable for your needs.

Saga Travel Insurance is not available to persons resident outside the UK or for one way trips. Full details of the Benefits and Terms and Conditions of the policy are contained in the Saga Travel Insurance policy booklet forwarded on acceptance of your application. Click Here for a specimen copy.

About the information you provide.

All 'material facts' must be disclosed to the Insurer. Failure to do so may affect your rights under the insurance. A 'material fact' is a fact likely to influence the Insurer in the acceptance or assessment of the insurance (for example, your own state of health or that of a close relative). If you are in any doubt as to whether a fact is 'material', then for your own protection it should be disclosed.

Medical conditions.

You will not be covered for ALL trips where at the time of taking out this insurance the person whose condition gives rise to a claim:
  • is receiving or on a waiting list for inpatient treatment in a hospital or nursing home; or
  • has received a terminal prognosis; or
  • is travelling against medical advice or for the purpose of obtaining treatment.

This exclusion applies not only to the insured persons but also to close relatives or other persons whose health may affect either their decision to travel or cut short their trip

Other principal exclusions.
  • The first £50 per person per claim for Cancellation, Curtailment and Medical Expenses.
  • The first £50 per person per claim for Baggage, Money and Documents.
  • Property left in an unattended vehicle overnight.
  • Baggage losses not reported to the police or transit authorities within 24 hours.
  • Manual work in connection with any business, profession or trade.
For full details of all policy exclusions, please see the policy book.

Complaints Procedure.

A complaint procedure is outlined in the Insurance Policy book.
