Saga Essential Check – £145
A mini health assessment aimed at raising awareness of key health issues such as cardiovascular risk factors and pulmonary (lung) functions. There are no CT scans involved in this assessment and therefore it is available to anyone who may have already had a scan in the last 5 years. More information…
Monitored Heart Rhythm – monitors the rhythm of your heart to establish the presence of arrhythmia (an irregular heart beat) such as atrial fibrillation which can cause a stroke.
Lung function and Lung age test – assesses the health and function of the lungs and calculates the current age of your lungs. In smokers the age of the lungs is often ‘older’ than the individual.
Full Lipid Profile (Cholesterol) – a blood test giving a breakdown of your cholesterol (or blood fat) result. A high level of cholesterol increases your risk of cardiovascular disease.
Blood Pressure – monitoring your blood pressure can help avoid future problems
Measurement of height, weight and calculation of body mass index – keeping a check on your weight is important for a healthy heart and helps avoid future problems for your bones and joints.
Urine Analysis – looking for any signs of protein in your urine.
Saga 50+ Check – £295
Common health concerns for the over 50’s include the risk of heart attack, osteoporosis and prostate or ovarian cancer. This health check enables us to assess whether you have any of the early signs of these conditions. More information…
CT Heart Scan – Provides detailed information about the conditions of your coronary arteries and looks for calcium build up. The more calcium there is the greater your risk of having a heart attack or stroke. However, if calcium is detected early, modern treatments and lifestyle changes can make all the difference and help you avoid a heart attack or stroke in the future.
Bone Mineral Density Scan – this scan is aimed at looking for any deterioration in the density of your bones, which could indicate the early signs of osteoporosis.
Prostate cancer or Ovarian cancer blood tests – a blood test giving an indicator of whether there are any early indicators of prostate cancer or ovarian tumours
Full Lipid Profile (Cholesterol) – a blood test giving a breakdown of your cholesterol (or blood fat) result, a high level of cholesterol increases your risk of cardiovascular disease.
Monitored Heart Rhythm – monitors the rhythm of your heart to establish the presence of arrhythmia (an irregular heart beat) such as atrial fibrillation, which can cause a stroke
The Saga MultiCheck – £470

Lung Scan – a low dose CT scan of your lungs capturing hundreds of detailed images, which will be reviewed by a Consultant Radiologist that will check and report on any evidence of changes visible in the lungs. Our lung scans are six times more accurate than a traditional x-ray in detecting the early signs of lung cancer
Abdomen Scan – this scan looks at the abdominal organs and the aorta to exclude the possibility of aortic aneurysms, kidney stones or kidney cancer. Please note: this scan does not include any visualisation of the colon (large bowel).
Bone Mineral Density Scan – this measures the density of your bone structure to determine the presence of osteoporosis. Early detection means you can take action before the condition becomes more serious.
Saga Complete Life Check – £720

Full Mole Check – £125
Many of us have moles, and the vast majority are completely harmless – however they should still be checked regularly. In some cases moles can develop into malignant melanoma – a serious type of skin cancer, which requires early detection for successful treatment. More information…
The mole scan we use includes innovative scanning technology to investigate suspect moles quickly and painlessly. Our check includes a full visual examination by one of our screening technicians, a clinical photograph so that our consultant dermatologist or plastic surgeon can fully visualise any suspect moles after your appointment, and a SIAscope scan (a handheld imaging probe) for any moles requiring further assessment.
Cardio Check – £150
Your heart is the most important part of your body – look after your heart and it will keep looking after you. The Cardio check is an ideal ‘start’ for anyone concerned about their health and can help to detect the early signs of heart attack, stroke or cardiovascular disease. More information…
The Cardio Check includes:
CT Heart Scan – provides detailed information about the condition of your coronary arteries and looks for calcium build up – which indicates the very early stages of heart and vascular disease long before any symptoms are present.
Monitored Heart Rhythm – monitors the rhythm of your heart to establish the presence of arrhythmia (an irregular heart beat) such as atrial fibrillation, which can cause a stroke.
Full Lipid Profile (Cholesterol) – a blood test giving a breakdown of your cholesterol (or blood fat) result. A high level of cholesterol increases your risk of cardiovascular disease.
Lung Check – £250
Lung cancer is still one of the most common cancers in the UK, but is one where early detection can make a significant difference to the outcome. If you smoke, or previously smoked, you may wish to consider a lung scan. More information. More information…
Lung Scan – a low dose CT scan of your lungs capturing hundreds of detailed images which will be reviewed by a Consultant Radiologist who will check for any evidence of changes visible in the lungs. Our lung scans are six times more accurate than a traditional x-ray in detecting the early signs of lung cancer.
Lung function and lung age test – to establish how well your lungs are functioning. It simply involves breathing long and hard into a special device, which will monitor how well your lungs are functioning and give an estimation of how ‘old’ your lungs are compared to your actual age. If you lung age is substantially older than your current age it can indicate that lifestyle or medical conditions may be having an impact on your lung function.
Colon Check – £450
As an advanced method of detecting the early signs of colon cancer, this scan is a reassuring alternative to an invasive investigation. Virtual colonoscopy is now recognised as being as sensitive as conventional colonoscopy for the detection of polyps measuring over 10mm (about the size of a pea). With early detection and treatment, survival rates can be increased from 35% to 90%. More information…
The Virtual colonoscopy captures hundreds of exceptionally detailed images from outside the body. The images build up a complete picture of the colon, which enables Consultant Radiologists to undertake a ‘fly through’ of the entire colon allowing for visualisation of any small polyps or changes in the bowel such as diverticular disease.
The other key advantage of the virtual colonoscopy is the ability to gain images of the other abdominal organs such as the liver, kidneys, pancreas, gallbladder and spleen. In recent studies it is this additional information, which has proved successful in the detection of other diseases and abnormalities, in particular kidney cancer.
