Meet Judith Wills

Alphabet B Best-selling diet writer Judith Wills has 'gone to pot'. Can the diet guru take her own medicine?
Judith WillsJudith Wills

Judith Wills was regarded as a leading 'diet guru' throughout the 1980s, 90s and early noughties, and has had many best-selling lifestyle books and videos. She even lectured on a Saga cruise and helped several Saga Magazine readers to get slim and fit.

But now, at the age of 61, after a few years’ enforced inactivity, injuries and, as she puts it, "sheer laziness", she finds herself 'gone to pot'. Considerably overweight at 12 stone, with a 36 inch waist, totally unfit – and with a health profile so poor "I am ashamed of myself".

Now Saga is following her as she attempts to spend 2011 rectifying matters. Can the ex-diet guru heal herself? Can she take her own medicine? "Well – I’m not sure. I truly do want to set myself up for a healthy old age, and I’ll give it my best shot. Let’s ALL see what happens. Please do get involved – comment on what I say in the blogs, what I do in the videos, as the year progresses. Give me your thoughts, your ideas and experiences. It will help me so much – and you never know – reading about my inevitable mishaps and occasional triumphs (please) or perhaps trying the recipes I intend to give you, may even help you, too. And I hope sometimes the blog will give you a laugh."
