What is No Claims Discount (NCD)?
No Claims Discount (NCD) is an earned discount that is applied for every year that a driver has insurance on a car without making a claim. Saga’s maximum No Claims Discount is four years, which equates to a 60% discount.
Can I protect my NCD?
Once you have the maximum No Claims Discount (NCD) of four years and if you have not had an accident or made more than one claim in the last two years, Saga can protect your No Claims Discount for an additional premium. This means that your No Claims Discount will remain unaffected if you do not have more than two fault claims in five consecutive years of insurance.
What documents would I have to submit as proof of my NCD?
We may ask you to provide proof of your No Claim Discount entitlement. Originals or photocopies are acceptable in the following forms:
- previous insurer’s Renewal Notice; or
- No Claim Discount letter or card.
Do my years spent driving a company car count towards NCD?
If you have had the sole personal use of a company car (e.g. have had a car reserved for your own use both for work and for pleasure purposes) but have lost it due to retirement, change in position or due to changes in taxation laws, you will be allowed NCD in accordance with the number of claim free years immediately preceding the start date of your motor insurance policy.

What is Legal Protection?
Trained claims handlers will work on your behalf to recover from the third party any uninsured losses or compensation for personal injury following a motoring accident in the UK that was not your fault. For example, you could receive reimbursement for:

- travelling expenses; or
- loss of earnings.
