Terms and conditions

The prize draw is open to all UK residents over the age of 50, with a permanent UK address, except employees of Saga Group Limited, their families or anyone connected with the prize draw.
The prize is a year’s free gas, electricity, oil, coal, or a combination of these, up to the value of £3,000, which will be awarded to one person each week during September and paid by cheque. The actual amount will be based on each winner’s home energy usage for the last twelve months, calculated at current energy prices at the time of the draw, with a further maximum 40% added to account for any potential home energy price increases over the next twelve months. Written evidence of actual home energy usage will be required, and only bills in the winners’ names will be valid.
There will be five weekly prize draws during October 2008. One entry into the prize draw will be given for every person requesting a Saga Home Insurance quotation during each weekly draw period. If the person goes on to take out a policy during the same draw period, a second entry into the prize draw will be given. The draw periods are: 1-5 October 2008, 6–12 October 2008, 13–19 October 2008, 20–26 October 2008 and 27-31 October 2008.
A maximum of one quote entry and one policy entry per individual household.
No purchase is necessary. To enter without a quote or policy purchase, send your name, address and contact telephone number to: Free Home Energy Prize Draw, Saga Home Insurance, The Saga Building, Enbrook Park, Folkestone, Kent CT20 3SE. Customers who enter via this route will receive two entries into the prize draw. The day the entry is received by the Marketing department will be deemed the entry date.
Each winner will be the first customer randomly selected in a weekly computerised draw. The draws will take place on the Wednesday following the individual closing dates.
Saga Services Limited reserves the right to alter the terms of the prize draw, provided an alternative prize is of an equivalent value.
Entries will not be accepted if a specific reference number was requested to enter the prize draw, but not given.
The judge’s decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into.
The winners will be notified by telephone or post within 21 days of the draws taking place.
Saga Services Limited reserves the right to select an alternative winner if unable to contact the original winning customer within 21 days of the draw taking place.
Saga Services Limited reserves the right to publish the winners’ photographs, names and home counties in post-event publicity.

Proof of posting is not proof of receipt.
Entry to the prize draw is deemed acceptance of the rules.
