Before you know it, summer will be upon us and your grandchildren will be clamouring for exciting things to do on days out in half-term and during the long holidays.
So now's a good time for a bit of forward planning for family activities. Well, that grand old lady on the south bank of the River Thames, HMS Belfast, has some thrills lined up in June and July, which are both fun and educational.
Step aboard the most famous surviving warship from World War 2 on June 1-5, June 18-19 and July 16-17 for the 'Tattoo T-Shirts: Davy Jones's Locker' event. Younger family members will be able to design their own t-shirts to take home, inspired by traditional navy tattoos and the grisly legend of Davy Jones.
HMS Belfast's interactive Operations Room and Gun Turret Experience are fascinating and engaging for visitors of every age group, as are the real life recorded tales from some of the 950-strong crew who served aboard, as you take the tour of her nine decks.
