Clean green kale smoothie

This healthy green kale smoothie is very easy to make and extremely nutritious.



A hit in the raw food world, and kale, the most nutritious of greens, provides large quantities of anti-oxidants and other beneficial nutrients.

Serves 2

Ingredients

  • 1 pint (600 ml) water
  • 1 cup (2¼ oz/65 g) kale, rinsed, dried and chopped
  • 1 cup (1 oz/30 g) English spinach, rinsed, dried and chopped
  • 1 banana, chopped
  • 1 in (2.5 cm) ginger root
  • 1 tablespoon chia seeds
  • Juice of ½ lemon

Method

Pour the water into a blender or food processor, and add the remaining ingredients.

Process or blend until smooth.

Store in glass preserving bottles and refrigerate for up to 48 hours.
