Get a PC on the cheap

It's not all about Microsoft Vista...here are some useful websites where you can grab a cut-price refurbished PC

www.morgancomputers.co.uk

Morgan has been selling refurbished and older computer stock for years, first in its shops and now on the internet.

There are great bargains to be had here, with plenty of computers that are a little past their sell-by date but still very useful. The company also sells peripherals, including monitors, printers, scanners and MP3 players.

www.mcscom.co.uk

MCS resells a lot of Dell's old stock - when something is returned under a warranty, it may be fixed and refurbished and sold through a shop such as this.

All products are in working order and have warranties. Most of the kit won't come with a monitor or operating system, and the list prices don't include VAT. However, there are still some good deals here.

www.sterlingxs.co.uk

Sterling XS offers new and refurbished notebook computers, although there are also a few desktops on sale. There are computers here from a selection of manufacturers including Dell, IBM and HP, plus spare parts, monitors and other peripherals. Remember to factor in the cost of an operating system unless it's listed.
