Saga’s savvy drivers show that the cold snap is snow problem

Saga insures over a million drivers aged 50 and over. Saga Motor Insurance claims have risen by around 10% more than we might normally expect in January, other insurers have reported claims up by a third.

Roger Ramsden, chief executive, Saga Insurance commented:

“The truth is that older people are more careful drivers than any other age group; and, they take heed of the warnings issued by the emergency services to only drive when necessary – that’s why they get cheaper car insurance. Indeed, many of claims we have got during the icy conditions are about other drivers hitting Saga-insured vehicles, rather than older drivers themselves getting into trouble.

Once again the Saga generation show, come rain or shine – or in this case snow or ice they are safe and savvy on the road.”
