Saga Platinum
credit card
A fair order of payments.
The Saga Platinum credit card, unlike many other UK credit cards, offers a fairer deal to customers whether you plan to spend or borrow on the card, or both.
The repayments you make to the balance on your card will pay off any fees, charges and higher interest rate transactions first, before clearing debts on lower interest rates.¹
For example if you transferred a balance to your Saga Platinum credit card at 0% interest for 6 months² and then withdrew cash at 23.9% APR, your repayments would be used to clear the higher rate cash withdrawal first before paying back the 0% balance transfer.
Other UK credit cards we surveyed* use your payments to pay back the lower interest rate debts first, potentially leaving the higher interest rate transactions on your card for longer, accruing more interest.
The fair order of payments on the Saga Platinum credit card ensures you pay less interest than you would if we managed your repayments in the same way as the other credit card providers we surveyed*. This makes the Saga Platinum credit card the perfect choice if you are looking to borrow on your card or have debt you are looking to repay.
The table below illustrates the Saga Platinum credit card fair order of payment versus the other UK cards we surveyed*:
