Five easy steps in summary

Easy steps to buying a pension annuity:

1. Consider your options
As you approach your selected retirement date (or possibly before if your circumstances change), you will need to consider your options. Review your current outgoings and the level of income you will need to maintain a standard of living that is acceptable to you.

2. Contact your existing provider
Shortly before your retirement date, or at your request, your existing pension provider will give you an annuity quote based on your fund value(s) and your choice of options.

3. Obtain a quote from Saga
Remember, you do not have to take your annuity with the company that provides your pension plan. Also, the Saga Annuity Service will automatically see if any lifestyle or health conditions qualify you for a higher income.

4. Compare and decide
Compare the quotes you have obtained to see if they meet your income requirements.

5. Apply for your annuity
Once you have decided which options are best for you, you will need to complete and return the application pack so that the
annuity can be arranged and payments begin. The Saga Annuity Service, provided by Legal & General, has an experienced and
dedicated team to help you through the application process.
