Why should I use Saga International Payments for an overseas money transfer?  

Saga International Payments, provided by Travelex*, offers bank-beating exchange rates. Personal, specialist dealers can ensure that your transaction is quick and secure. Commission fees are not charged, plus you can protect against unpredictable fluctuations in exchange rates.

How does the service work? 

Once your account is open with Saga International Payments, you are under no obligation to trade – just use the facility any time to transfer money overseas. If you have the funds to hand and wish to transfer them immediately (known as a ‘spot transaction’), call 0800 0150 995 for the current rate and arrange the payment over the phone. Travelex* will then fax, e-mail or post confirmation.

It can also be very convenient to arrange transfers in advance. With a standard deposit of 10%, you can agree to make a transfer on a future date within the next 12 months at a fixed exchange rate (known as a ‘forward contract’). The rest of your payment is due two days before the agreed transfer date. No matter what happens to exchange rates in the meantime, you know how much the transaction will cost.
