Pensions crisis: Campaign targets Labour conference

The Pensions Action Group, with the support of Saga, have been pushing hard for pensions justice

The Pensions Action Group is holding a protest at the Labour Party conference today to highlight the plight of those robbed of their pensions following the winding up of company schemes

The group asks for your support in its continued fight for justice for pensioners who are yet to receive money owed to them after long working lives paying into company pension schemes. They have lost out through no fault of their own, with more than 100,000 people stripped of their pensions in this way. And despite desperate pleas for full compensation, ministers have consistently refused to help.

Leading PAG campaigner Peter Humphrey said: "We really need as many people as possible to attend this march. We are getting closer to achieving our stated aims, but we will not get there without a serious push over the next few months.

"You should ask your MPs to join us on this march, along with your relatives, friends and work colleagues. We need to see you supporting the cause."

Pensions expert Dr Ros Altmann, who has provided support and advice throughout the campaign, added: "This is the worst pension scandal the UK has ever seen. Proud people, who did all the right things and trusted Government assurances of safety, have spent years begging for justice, but heartless Ministers have abandoned them.

"Any support you can give would be so welcome."
