A Saga Share Direct Certificated Account account allows you to buy and sell shares for which you hold and retain the paper certificate.

To do this you will need to open a Certificated Account with Saga Share Direct (provided by Barclays Stockbrokers), which will allow you to trade over the phone. Unlike many other certificated accounts, your Saga Share Direct account allows you to not only sell your share certificates but also to buy new share certificates.

A Saga Share Direct account also offers competitive trading rates. The commission you pay will be linked to the value of your trade and you will only be charged when you trade.

You can choose to deal in a range of investments including UK equities, bonds and gilts, allowing you to spread the risk of your investments by diversifying your portfolio.

• Access to Quote and Deal over the telephone. This will give you the real time price from the market before you deal, giving you the confidence you’re trading at the price with which you’re comfortable and that is right at that particular time.
• Access to free Limit Orders. When you want to achieve a price better than the current share price you can choose a Limit Order. You set the price at which you wish to trade and only if that price or a better price is achieved will your deal take place. These orders can be placed at any time and your deal will be monitored for 30 business days.
• Access to Price Improver, which finds you the best price available when you deal.
• Access to a daily email from Digital Look helping you keep up-to-date with the latest market and investment news so you can make the investment choices that are right for you.
