Accident rate 15% lower than average
31% fewer claims for stolen vehicles
Research from Saga Motor Insurance today reveals the regional differences between motor insurance claims in the UK.* The good news for Wales is that there are 15% fewer accident claims than the national average, suggesting that Welsh drivers the safest in the UK.
Incidences of theft in Wales are also significantly fewer than the national average. Almost a third fewer vehicles are stolen and there are 28% fewer claims for personal belongings being stolen from inside people's cars, suggesting that there are not as many opportunistic thieves about.
There are 27% fewer claims for windscreen damage compared to the UK average, the second lowest in the UK, behind the North East, suggesting that there are fewer loose stones on the roads.
