Saga Holidays, the leading tour operator for today's over 50s, has organised a series of spectacular holidays for classical music enthusiasts in the winter sun of Tenerife.
The three superb trips have been arranged to coincide with the popular six-week Canary Islands Music Festival - which takes place in January and February 2007 -and features highly acclaimed orchestras and choirs from around the world.
The festival, which is celebrating its 23rd year, will take place in the recently built 1,600-seat Auditorio de Tenerife, located in Tenerife's capital Santa Cruz. Key performances include Britten's War Requiem, Tchaikovsky's Symphony No.6, Schoenburg's Gurrelieder and Mendelssohn's Symphony No.4 Italian.
Performing at the festival will be the BBC Symphony choir, the Helsinki Philharmonic Orchestra and the Chamber Choir of Bratislava.
Prices start from 749 for 7 nights based on January 5 2007 departure. Departures are also available on January 19 and February 2 2007. Included in the price are three concerts, three talks by Saga music host Irene Bale, two excursions, a free bar open ten hours daily, return flights from London Gatwick, insurance and cancellation cover. Guests will stay in the four-star Hotel Canarife Palace, which is located in the quiet La Paz district.
