For travellers with a healthy appetite for fine wine and good food, Saga's new cruise brochure for 2007 is a real mouth-watering prospect.
Saga has included two itineraries on its famous sister ships Saga Rose and Saga Ruby which will be devoted to educating its passengers about the wonders of fantastic Mediterranean cuisine.
A range of activities will be organised on each cruise to give guests the chance to sample local culinary delicacies, attend special lectures, watch cookery demonstrations and participate in wine-tasting while, at the same time, enjoying the wonders of the Mediterranean.
Saga Ruby's Mediterranean Getaway sails from Southampton on September 3rd 2007 and takes in the culinary capitals of Lisbon, Barcelona and Rome. The 15-night tour also visits the Spanish harbour of Vigo, the Provenale port of Toulon, the famous Renaissance city of Florence and the fascinating peninsula of Gibraltar. Prices start from 1799 per person.
Saga Rose's Western Mediterranean Discovery takes the same route, but departs Southampton on May 11th with prices starting from £1784 per person.
Andrew Goodsell, Chief Executive of Saga Group said: "These two cruises offer our guests an excellent opportunity to appreciate and learn how to recreate the huge variety and superb quality of food and drink on offer throughout the Mediterranean."
