For cricket fans and sun worshippers alike, the trip will be an unforgettable experience offering the chance to explore the tear-drop shaped jewel in the Indian Ocean, while enjoying the season's sport! Saga Holidays has put together three bespoke trips, featured in their latest Travellers World brochure, each combining a test match with the opportunity to marvel at the spiritual and cultural side of Sri Lanka.

Cricket Tour 1 – 28th November 2007

Discover the Buddhist temples of capital city, Colombo, the World Heritage City of Kandy and the Royal Botanical Gardens of Peradeniya, before spending five full days at the Asgiriya International Cricket Stadium soaking up the atmosphere of the 1st Sri Lanka v England Test Match. Once the action on the field is complete, head across to Yala National Park, for Game Driving and Elephant spotting, before a final few days in Kalutara, staying at the all inclusive Tangerine Beach Hotel - a beachside retreat where you can relax and unwind before the journey back to Colombo and onwards to the UK.

Tour duration: 14 nights* Tour Price: 1899

Cricket Tour 2 – 7th December 2007

After arriving in Colombo, transfer to the Galadari Hotel, where you will be based whilst enjoying the 2nd Sri Lanka v England Test Match at the Sinhalese Sports Club and International Cricket Club. Once the final over is over, head down to Giritale for two days at a spa retreat in serene "garden style" luxury. Moving onwards to the medieval capital of Polonnaruwa, you will visit 10th century ruins and sacred shrines, before travelling on to Kandy to see temples, icons and explore the Buddhist culture of the island. Finally, spend the last few days soaking up the sun and sand at the all inclusive Tangerine Beach Hotel in Kalutara before returning home to the UK.

Cricket Tour 3 – 15th December 2007 (Includes Christmas)

Transfer from Colombo to Kosgoda for three days at a beachside hotel, getting relaxed and ready for the 3rd Sri Lanka v England Test Match, which you will attend at Galle International Cricket Stadium for five days.
