Cash prize of 1,000 to be won
Saga Share Direct is offering over 50s a Fantasy Share Dealing Game from 1st May until 31st July with the most successful investor winning a cash prize of 1,000 to spend as they choose.
Individuals can enter on their own or team up with friends and colleagues to form a fantasy investment club. Register for the game free by visiting www.saga.co.uk/fantasy, participants will be given a fantasy limit of 100,000 to invest in any listed companies on the London Stock Exchange and AIM markets.
Once 'trading' is underway, participants can pitch their progress against other fantasy investors through the league table which will be updated daily. Investors can also create 'mini-leagues', allowing them to form their own competitions and test their stock-picking skills against friends and colleagues.
The individual or team who has notched up the highest gains by July 31 will walk away with 1,000 in cash. Unlike many other fantasy share dealing games, the Saga Share Direct prize has no conditions requiring them to reinvest their winnings.
The game is easy and fun to play, and even has a specially designed stock screener, which helps investors by matching shares according to pre-determined criteria such as sector and profitability.
Andrew Goodsell, Chief Executive of Saga Group Ltd, said: "Our game is accessible to everyone, from the virgin investor who just wants to see if they can make some gains to the more seasoned investor, looking to rival legendary stock-picker Warren Buffet!
Fantasy Share Dealing is a perfect opportunity for individuals or investment clubs to try out their stock picking skills before committing their own money".
