Saga Holidays recommends an Indian Summer this Autumn
TV audiences have been dazzled recently with the beauty of India and all she has to offer in many programmes marking her 60th year of independence. This TV coverage could largely explain the increase Saga Holidays has seen in bookings for holidays to India over recent months. The renewed interest in this diverse and enchanting country has led Saga to expand its range of Indian holidays to include a more independent style hotel stay.
Introducing Sagas first hotel stay in India, Temple Bay Hotel Mahabalipuram, Nr Chennai
Overlooking the sea, the Temple Bay Hotel is just a short walk from the heart of historic Mahabalipuram, an ancient Hindu town, once the chief sea port of the Pallava's dynasty, with seven spectacular and mythical pagodas along its beachfront. Considered to hold some of India's finest architecture, Mahabalipuram's amazing rock cut monuments, reliefs and beautiful temples have earned it UNESCO World Heritage Site status.
For those who want to explore, the Temple Bay Hotel is ideally situated for some fantastic excursions further afield, really offering the chance to get a cultural feel for India. Tour Chennai city, visit the former French colony of Pondicherry, take a cultural tour taking of the temples of Kanchipuram.
