From salsa dancing in Cuba to painting on the high seas, Saga enables today's over 60s to achieve their ambitions
To celebrate the first UK older people's Day on 1st October the Government has surveyed today’s over 60s to discover their personal goals for the future. As a company more in tune with this age group than any other it should come as no surprise that a third of these goals can be achieved while on a Saga Holiday!
As well as the obvious things such as seeing the world and going on a cruise, Saga also offers the chance to swim with dolphins in the Caribbean, go on safari in Kenya and even fly in a hot air balloon over the African savannah.
For those who have a more active goal once they hit their sixties, they can learn to Salsa in Cuba, try yoga in Florida or go try out the saddle with horse riding in Borneo! Those looking to improve their language skills can take part in language lessons on most of our European hotel stay holidays. A third of Saga holidaymakers travel alone and there are many departures especially for singles, which means finding love and romance in your 60s is a distinct possibility!
Food and wine lovers are also not to be disappointed – cookery courses are available across the globe from Spain to St Lucia, whilst for those who enjoy the eating more than the cooking, the cakes and cuisine on our cruise ships are legendary. Wine tasting is available in many of Europe's glorious wine regions for those who plan to spend their later years trying to find the perfect vintage!
Our cruises offer some of the most amazing sights the world has to offer, there is no better place to view the Northern Lights than from the middle of the ocean. Time at sea is also well spent learning a new skill - painting classes are available from qualified experts and computer lessons are also available to help people download all their holiday snaps.
Andrew Goodsell, Chief Executive, Saga Group, commented: "The survey by the Government shows how ambitious and adventurous today's over sixties are. Our customers are always telling us what they would like to do more of, which is why we include so many different activities as part of our holiday packages."
