New 118 050 number undercuts 118 118 by more than 50%
Flat rate of 35p per enquiry, regardless of length of call
Over 50s experts Saga have today launched a directory enquiries service that beats the current market leader* by up to 50%. In addition, the service offers transparent pricing with all calls charged at a flat rate of 35p, regardless of the length of the call.
The directory enquiries market was opened up to competition in December 2002 when the previous 192 number was discontinued. Since then, over 100 new providers have entered the market offering a 118 number, meaning consumers often don't know where to turn for the cheapest and most reliable service.
Saga's new service, 118 0ver 50, has been launched as a direct challenge to the likes of 118 118, who currently attract the majority of callers*, despite having some of the highest charges in the market. In fact customer's calling them could be losing out considerably by sticking to this service, as they charge 83p per one minute call**, over double the cost of Saga.
