Confidentcover.com announces winner of the Mini Cooper
ConfidentCover.com the insurance price comparison site for the over 50s is delighted to announce the winner of a brand new MINI Cooper worth 16,000. Mr L Conway from Chessington, Surrey , was selected from thousands of entrants. When informed of his good luck he was absolutely overwhelmed by the news:
Mr Conway said, "I couldn't believe it. One minute I was wholly focused on my work and then next somebody is telling me I'd won a brand new car! I seriously couldn't take it in, I had to sit down and then ring ConfidentCover back as I needed time to collect my thoughts".
Confidentcover.com revolutionised the comparison site market when it was launched in August 2007 by being the first site to compare different companies' car insurance policy features on a single page and to show the breakdown of voluntary and compulsory excess.
Research conducted amongst nearly 16,000 people aged over 50 shows that almost seven in 10 over 50s (69%) have visited an online aggregator to research car insurance*. However less than half (44%) have actually bought a policy in this way. Almost half (43%) of those questioned strongly agreed that generic online comparison sites were useful to determine headline prices, but they would rather call the insurance companies directly to confirm what is and what isn't included in the overall price.
The need for reassurance about the policy terms is demonstrated in the fact that four in five (83%) people thought that comparison web sites focused on the lowest quote rather than the policy details. In addition, just under four out of five (79%) thought they were not clear about what the cover included, such as courtesy cars, and whether the policy allowed you to drive other people's cars. A further 79% said they would find it more useful to have proper policy and price details, than limited information from several hundred companies.
Factors such as excess, availability of a courtesy car and call centre location are important. In the past the only way of finding out, how many days European cover a policy offers, was to call insurance companies one-by-one, for example. Confidentcover.com allows users to compare over 30 policy features side-by-side, as well as the premium so they can be sure that they are buying the right cover at the right price.
