Saga Rose's final voyage
On January 5 2009 Saga Rose will make cruising history when she departs for her 44th Round the World cruise. This cruise will secure her place in the record books by completing more round the world trips than any other – including the QE2.
In recognition of the Commonwealth's 60th anniversary, Saga Rose will call at 21 Commonwealth nations on this unique voyage, enabling all her travellers to enjoy and celebrate their rich cultural heritage and broad scenic diversity.
Saga Rose will leave from Southampton to a spectacular firework display and, over 104 nights, will cover 32,499 nautical miles and visit 39 ports.
Highlights of the cruise include five Caribbean islands (Antigua, Barbados, Grenada, St Lucia and Jamaica), exotic bird-spotting in Costa Rica's rainforests, visiting the ancient mud city of Chan Chan in Peru, exploring the mysterious Moai statues of Easter Island, looking for crocodiles in Darwin, experiencing a taste of India in Kochi and Mumbai and cruising both the Panama and Suez Canals.

Saga Rose's farewell voyage departs Southampton on October 30th, 2009 and encompasses some of the Mediterranean's most popular regions, best-loved cities and impressive sites. Some highlights will include the beautiful walled city of Dubrovnik, a UNESCO World Heritage site, plus the stunning cities of Barcelona and Venice, where she will moor overnight.
There will also be a special Saga celebration in Vigo, where sister ship Saga Ruby will join her for a day. This voyage also visits Toulon, where Saga Rose was built and guests can look forward to a series of celebrations on board throughout the duration of the cruise. The cruise will be joined by a host of guest entertainers including Katherine Jenkins, Tom O'Connor and Anthony Stuart Lloyd .
