One in twenty have joined "the mile high club"
Age is no barrier when it comes to breaking taboos and having sex in public places, research* by Saga Travel Insurance has revealed. A sixth (16%) of thrill seeking over 50s admit to having had sex on public transport over the years, with a further one in twenty (5%) having joined the exclusive 'mile high club'. And over 210,000 of over 50s nationwide admit to still indulging.
With the bank holiday fast approaching and many taking long trips on public transport, it is worth remembering that its not just the under 20s that could be indulging in risque shenanigans in the carriage next door. The research suggests that sex on public transport is relatively common, with a fifth (20%) of the younger generation (under 50) admitting to having done it whilst travelling and a further 6% saying this took place on board a plane.
The most common age to indulge is during your twenties, when almost one in ten (8%) have frolicked on planes, trains and automobiles. Regionally people in Wales and the South West are the most adventurous with almost a quarter (23%) admitting to breaking the taboos.
