Katherine Jenkins is to perform a special one off concert onboard the Saga Ruby, in Civitavecchia, Italy on June 20 2008.
With the "Eternal City" of Rome as the stunning backdrop, the enchanting and award winning Welsh operatic singing star will torch the night with her unique and angelic voice. After signing a major recording deal with Universal Classics Katherine's career went stratospheric and now includes five albums and two Classic BRIT awards, and is the fastest selling female opera singer since Maria Callas.
The Saga Ruby's "Celebrated Cities of the Mediterranean" cruise sets off from Newcastle on June 12 and explores cultural and historically rich European cities, including Lisbon, Barcelona, Rome and Florence as well as others, before arriving back in Newcastle on June 29.
Mr Andrew Goodsell, Group Chief Executive of Saga who has personally chosen Katherine to perform said, "I am delighted that Katherine, one of my favourite singers, will perform this very special concert.
