Paul Green, Head of Communications, Saga Group comments on England's success at qualifying for the World Cup 2010

Thursday 10 September 2009

"Over 1 million over 50s have been to watch a live football match in the last 12 months, we are sure there will be a great demand from the over 50s to jet off to South Africa to see England compete in the World Cup next summer, after last nights success in the qualifier.

People booking flights to South Africa should not forget their travel insurance or else they may find that if you become 'as sick as a parrot' you certainly 'wont be singing any more' as the 'penalty' for being caught out could run to several thousand pounds - which may well take the shine off an England victory next July.

Insurance won't cost an arm and a leg - for example, a 50 year old man going to South Africa next year to see the competition - which starts on 11th June and ends on 11th July - could expect to pay as little as £64 for cover. For those less confident in the England team two weeks costs from £36*."
