Saga Independent Living is extending its high quality domiciliary care service to include a respite service for carers. There are an estimated 336,000* carers in Kent who could benefit from this service.

Caring for a friend or loved one can be emotionally and physically draining, so it is important for carers to have a break to recharge their batteries. Over a third (37%)** of people with caring responsibilities feel that they now have less time and space to themselves. A quarter (26%) consider they have less time available to spend with other family members and 24% don’t have enough time to meet with friends or pursue leisure interests.

The extension of the Saga Independent Living (SIL) service means that existing carers can take time from their caring commitments to do the things they enjoy or might not have time to do. The service offers a free assessment to discuss a suitable caring plan to cater for needs and provide peace of mind.

As people would expect from a trusted brand like Saga, the service offers high quality care, providing the same level of attention to clients’ needs as they would expect from their family. Saga tailors care to the individual and, unlike many other providers, it guarantees its carers will spend the full amount of time with a customer. And with the Summer Holiday Season approaching we can cover longer periods - giving the carer peace of mind and the freedom to enjoy their holiday.

The service includes everything required to support people in their own homes including personal care, through to help with domestic chores such as shopping, cleaning and preparation of meals. All provided by carefully selected, trained and vetted staff.
