BABY BOOMERS ARE A GENEROUS GENERATIONFriday 29 June 2012
Roger Ramsden, Chief Executive, Saga Services said:
BABY BOOMERS ARE A GENEROUS GENERATION
“Saga’s experience is that baby-boomers are reinvesting the money they have earned during the housing boom to give their children or grandchildren a leg up in life. On average one in seven of Saga’s Equity Release customers released £27,000 from their home to give to family members in the first half of 2012. They are using this money to help family members in a variety of ways. This includes putting a foot on the property ladder, clearing mortgages and paying for university fees. This is up by approximately £5,000 from last year highlighting that this generous generation are giving more as the economic crisis continues.”
