Today Saga’s Thanet office employs some 600 permanent staff - 37 of which are part of the small team that entered the doors when they first opened 10 years earlier – with further employees visiting from other Saga offices on a regular basis.
Since the building opened the team have handled in the region of 21 million calls and drunk more than 3.5million cups of tea and coffee.
At Saga we love to develop home-grown talent and we are delighted that many of the senior supervisory and management team at Thanet were promoted from within the pool of talent we recruited locally.
Saga’s Thanet office continues to be a major employer in the area with more than a 100 new colleagues expected to be recruited throughout 2013.
Roger Ramsden, chief executive, Saga Insurance said: "Saga Insurance’s focus on quality, price and service has seen it grow the number of customers we serve and this in turn creates demand for more staff. Saga wants to attract, train and keep the best talent that Thanet has to offer.
“Our employment of local people has provided a £9 million boost for the local economy in the last year alone.”
Our offices in Thanet are ideally located on the edge of the expanding Westwood Cross shopping and leisure precinct, making it ideally located for easy access to shops, restaurants, a cinema and even a Casino. It has excellent transport links and provides a great working environment. During 2013 Saga will be recruiting people for a variety of positions. For example, working a 40 hour week, customer service agents have on target earnings of £16,000 and sales agents £20,000 per annum. In addition to competitive salaries, staff also benefit from a salary-related company pension, health insurance, a social club and discounts on products and services from a range of companies.
We are keen to hear from people interested in making a fresh start in 2013. People interested in a career with Saga should visit saga.co.uk/careers.
