GOVERNMENT COULD HELP REVERSE TREND OF LONG TERM UNEMPLOYMENT
"Losing your job in later life can be a knock-out blow as getting back into work is increasingly difficult for older people" said Tim Pethick, director of strategy for Saga.
"Saga is calling on the Government to do more to help re-skill individuals and also incentivise employers to take a chance on the long-term unemployed by abolishing employers national insurance - which is a tax on jobs - when they take on people who have been out of work for 6 months or longer."
