"This age group place more trust in their GP than they do in any other profession, therefore the principle around today's announcement to extend opening hours at GP surgeries is likely to be warmly received.
"In fact, over 50s are almost twice as likely to trust their GP than they would their Bank Manager or Chief Constable, and are 84% more likely to trust their GP than they would a Government Minister. So whilst this announcement might be a vote winner for this influential group, over 50s may be less likely to trust MPs to provide the right framework and funding to ensure that GPs are in a position to provide such a comprehensive out-of-hours service."
