Nanny doesn't need the nanny state to tell her how to drink responsiblyFriday 25 July 2014
Commenting on new research by Mintel that shows that over 50s drink more regularly than younger consumers, Paul Green, director of communications for Saga said:
Nanny doesn't need the nanny state to tell her how to drink responsibly
"Most over 50s have decades of experience to know their limits when it comes to drinking responsibly. Past the point where they feel the need to drink to impress, they're more likely to drink for pleasure and therefore do so in moderation rather binge drinking over the weekends.
"Whilst there is reams of advice telling us healthy drinking limits, and much of it is helpful, in this case it's clear that nanny doesn't need the nanny state to tell her what's best for her health.'
