Commenting on reports that one in four people don’t know how to contact an out-of-hours GP service, Saga's Paul Green, said:

“People don't just get sick during office hours. The health service needs to do more to ensure that its services are known about and widely understood. This is particularly important for older people who are more likely to need advice and for whom access to an out-of-hours service is vital. In a recent Saga survey of more than 10,000 over 50s they told us that they thought it was twice as hard to see a doctor now, as it was five years ago."
