Air Passenger Duty - take the low road urges Saga
"Saga welcomes the proposal to give the Scottish Parliament powers to vary Air Passenger Duty.
We hope they will go on to use their powers to cut this tax and create competition and fairness for the travelling public.
If Scotland can show that cutting the tax will boost travel and their economy then they will do the UK and not just those flying from Scottish airports a great service.
But along with cutting the tax airlines should be compelled to cut airfares so they don't snaffle the benefit. So we are also calling for airlines to make a public declaration that they would pass on all of any tax cut to travellers."
