Saga holidays and cruises - all aboard at a high street near you
This important move comes at a time when research points out that the over 50s now account for the majority of spending on travel and tourism expenditure in the UK. Saga has already had success by selling its popular cruises through agents via its sister company, Titan Travel, and this new journey onto the high street comes at a significant time for the holiday specialist. By working with other familiar names in towns and cities across the UK, Saga is thrilled that, for the first time, the wide-range of holiday choices available specifically designed for the over 50s will be available through trusted agents.
Holidays and cruises booked through an agent will continue to include all of Saga’s key features and benefits, such as included travel insurance, VIP door-to-door travel on long-haul and cruise holidays and the services of an experienced representative in resort.
Andrew Strong, chief executive, Saga Travel commented:
“This is an exciting time for Saga Travel, and this venture will put the option of a Saga Holiday or fantastic Saga cruise in the nation’s high streets as well as on door mats. Feedback so far from agents is very positive. Our current customers like dealing with us direct, but there are those that prefer to pop into their local travel agent, and this new initiative means we will be offering greater choice to some 3 million over 50s who book through a travel agent each year. Booking a Saga holiday or cruise through a travel agent will give customers all the added extras that those who book with us directly enjoy – and the security that we will offer a great experience at excellent value.”
