Camping and candlelit dinners exclusively for singles on Botswana and Jewel of the Kalahari safari adventure
Guests travel in a small group of up to 20 into the heart of the world's largest inland delta, the Jewel of the Kalahari, home to a diverse range of wildlife.
After a flight to Maun via Johannesburg the group sets off in a safari vehicle towards the Khwai River area for three nights. A fully-assembled mobile camp awaits and each private tent has proper beds, an en-suite bag-shower and chemical toilet.
The camp is staffed like a hotel and tents are arranged around an open-air bar/dining area beside a camp fire where meals are expertly cooked and served at beautifully laid tables. Wine and beer are included at lunch and dinner while in the evenings candlelit pathways link the bar and tents.
For the next two days guests can look for wildlife including antelope, lion, wild dog and leopard during early morning and late afternoon game drives.
The adventure continues to Chobe National Park and a newly erected camp base for the next three nights. Further game drives are included to see an abundance of water and forest birds, buffalo, giraffe and impala. This region is thought to have the highest concentration of game in Africa so guests may also see the more elusive leopard, cheetah, hyena and jackal.
Next, the tour heads north to the Chobe River and its beautiful flood plain for a two-night stay at the Chobe Safari Lodge in Kasane. Guests can take a river cruise to see herds of elephant, buffalo and birds at the water’s edge and join an optional photo safari on a specially designed vehicle.
Passengers on the Botswana and the Jewel of the Kalahari Active Explorer adventure can extend the holiday with various options from two nights at the Victoria Falls; three nights in Cape Town; five nights in Cape Town and the Victoria Falls; three nights in Okavango including two nights at a bush camp to explore the Delta by boat and four nights in the Central Kalahari to explore its game reserve. Price on application.
