Fancy a cruise but not sure enough to commit?
If you are tempted to take a cruise but would like to see more of what a ship has to offer before booking, Saga has the solution.
The over-50s company is inviting new-to-cruise and new-to-Saga guests the opportunity to experience an overnight stay on chic Saga Sapphire when she is docked in the Port of Dover on May 29.
Once on board guests will be shown to their spacious en-suite cabin. Once settled in guests can enjoy a sumptuous afternoon tea served by Saga’s friendly crew, a cruising tradition where guests can tuck in to home-made treats including scones with lashings of jam and cream all served with a choice of teas.
Guests will then be able to stretch their legs before dinner by taking a tour of the ship and visit the British seaside-themed pool area complete with ice-cream machine, old-fashioned sweet shop and nearby crazy golf. Inside, there are the comfortable lounges with travel-themed decor, a well-stocked library, a shop, gym, spa and beauty salon.
A cocktail party will kick off the evening in style so guests can meet other like-minded new-to-cruisers and the crew to find out more about life on board 700-passenger Sapphire.
Fine dining is a highlight of Saga cruises and guests will be treated to a five-course wonderfully arranged menu, just as they would enjoy every evening on a cruise. They will experience impeccable service in the attractive Pole to Pole dining room where tables are laid with traditional white linen.
Saga Sapphire is a small ship with a big personality and there will be dazzling entertainment in the Britannia Lounge and a warm welcome in any of the bars including Cooper’s with its comedy theme décor or Aviators which celebrates the great pioneers of aviation.
Guests will also be able to have a good night’s sleep in a comfortable bed with crisp linen bedding and wake up ready for a breakfast with a choice of a buffet or restaurant service.
There will be free parking for the overnighter while all Saga cruises include a return chauffeur service up to 250 miles from the port.
Overnighter price from £139 per person with options to upgrade to a superior cabin, balcony cabin or suite. Book a 2015 cruise by August 31 and the overnighter cost will be deducted
