New Gems of Andalusia river cruise
River cruise enthusiasts can discover the sights and sounds of Iberia when sailing along the mighty Guadalquivir and Guadiana rivers on MS La Belle de Cadix.
Saga’s new all-inclusive Gems of Andalusia river cruise takes in the cultural delights of southern Spain and the Algarve with a choice of exciting excursions.
The 88-cabin MS La Belle de Cadix enjoys a lively and friendly atmosphere, complimented by excellent on-board dining, leisure facilities and activities. There will be a welcome cocktail party, gala dinner and a free 12-hour bar* plus wine, beer, water and soft drinks served with lunch and dinner.
Guests can stretch out on the sun deck or relax in the panoramic lounge to make the most of the scenic cruising and in the evening choose from the intimate Pianorama Bar, which overlooks the ship's stern, or the lounge/bar area with a dancefloor.
Gems of Andalusia passengers fly to Seville and enjoy an overnight mooring before the ship sets sail along the Guadalquivir River.
There will be beautiful scenery on the sailing to Cádiz and for a taste of Spanish culture guests can opt to see a traditional flamenco show in the city, visit a traditional ganadería or ranch in Jerez or tour Cádiz and the port of Sanlúcar de Barrameda, where Columbus and Magellan both set sail.
MS La Belle de Cadix will glide along the Guadiana towards the Portuguese town of Alcoutim and continue to Vila Real de San Antonio where passengers will be able to relax on the beach or wander in the town.
Those who wish to explore further can take an optional excursion to Faro, cultural centre of the Algarve and one-time Roman trading port.
MS La Belle de Cadix will take a wonderful coastal cruise past Doñana National Park in Spain which is home to a variety of birdlife including heron, buzzard and the little bustard.
The next port will be El Puerto de Santa Maria for an included full-day trip to Granada which has a rich Moorish heritage. Back on board, guests will enjoy the views en route to Isla Minima before taking an included tour of a traditional hacienda to see an exciting equestrian show.
On return to Seville, there will be an optional excursion to the city of Córdoba or passengers can simply relax and wander in Seville, perhaps stopping for coffee in one of the elegant squares.
