You can be Heroes, just for 4 days
Research shows that the music we grow up with has such a deep impact that it remains with us throughout our life and that decades later we can still sing the words of the songs that formed the soundtrack of our youth.
For those who grew up during the 1970s and ‘80s, David Bowie, who would have been celebrating his 70th birthday this year, played a significant role. He continues to evoke strong memories after his death in January 2016.
This Bowie-themed break is the first in a new exclusive series of music themed city breaks from Saga. It will combine exclusive special guest appearances, sightseeing experiences and fine dining, creating a memorable trip for a group of 30 travellers. The trip will depart in Autumn 2017 from £1,999 per person.
The first in this new series will be released for sale later in 2017 and will feature an immersive Bowie themed long weekend in Berlin. Titled ‘Bowie-Berlin’ this break offers exclusive experiences that enable guests to really immerse themselves in the city that inspired some of Bowie’s most acclaimed music. Bowie-Berlin is scheduled to depart 40 years after the release of the Heroes album recorded in Berlin in 1977.
Special guest speakers sharing their unique stories of David Bowie include renowned broadcaster Whispering Bob Harris OBE; Bowie’s official tour photographer Denis O’Regan; author of “Hero: David Bowie” biography Lesley-Ann Jones.
The weekend is curated and hosted by ‘Doc of Rock’ Dr Julia Jones. Activities include a Bowie themed multi-media tour of Berlin, a private fine dining Bowie experience at members’ club Soho House Berlin, and nights out at key Bowie hotspots.
