It was all hands to the deck as volunteers from Saga Insurance dug and pruned their way through the flowerbeds at Ramsgate’s Charlotte Court on Friday 26th May.

Mayor Trevor Shonk came along to show his support, along with a number of local businesses who were all delighted with the transformation. Nearby shop owners also showed their appreciation with free tea and cakes to help to keep energy levels up.

Lisa Harris, head of communications at Saga, commented: “I’d like to say a huge well done and thank you to all the volunteers. Our staff are incredibly generous with their time and have a real desire to give something back to the local community, whether that’s by painting play equipment at Minster Primary school, beach cleaning at Pegwell Bay or spending time with elderly residents at local residential homes.

“Everyone involved gets a real sense of satisfaction and our people have been spurred us on to do even more. In addition to the work of the Saga Charitable Trust and our national charity partnership with The Silver Line we are fully committed to giving something back to our local community throughout 2017 and beyond.”
