About us

Our policy is not simply to donate money, but to invest in sustainable projects that will empower and support local communities as well as offer increased opportunities for them to benefit from tourism.

We passionately believe in giving something back to economically poor areas that welcome Saga guests. We do this by supporting projects that bring health and welfare benefits, providing the skills and opportunities for communities to become self-sufficient and ultimately to help to break the cycle of poverty.

The Trust funds four key areas: education; training; healthcare and income generation. By working closely with local communities we are able to identify programmes that will make a real and sustainable difference.

We currently support a variety of projects in over 15 countries throughout Africa, Asia and South America, which can be viewed in detail in the project section.

The Trust is in a unique position to tap into a worldwide network of holiday business partners and staff, who all help to support our work and importantly, ensure transparency and accountability.

We receive donations from Saga customers, many of whom choose to contribute to places they have visited on holiday; from Saga staff, who take part in a variety of fund-raising activities throughout the year; and from the Saga Group, who also cover the UK running costs of the charity.
