Children in parade

Kawantissapura School is located in the district of Hambantota, Sri Lanka, near the pilgrimage site of Kataragama and has over 300 pupils between the ages of 6 and 18. The Trust first started working here after the 2004 tsunami, which devastated much of the district of Hambantota and although the school itself was not damaged, many of the children were affected.

The Trust funded the building and stocking of a school library, as well as providing funding for the installation of computing equipment, which meant IT classes could be introduced in the school. Both the library and the computers remain popular and are well used by pupils and teachers.
