What is the difference between Pre Paid and Non Pre Paid?

When you reserve a car with Hertz you can chose to pay for your rental in advance (pre paid) or you can wait and pay for your rental when you arrive at the Hertz counter (non pre paid).

Generally pre paid rates are Hertz best available retail rates. Purchased in local currency and paid for at time of reservation. Reservations can be made up to 24 hours prior to departure.
What is included in the rate? Unlimited mileage, Collision damage waiver, theft protection, Vehicle license fund tax, local taxes, Location service charge and 24 hour roadside assistance.

Non pre-paid rates are reserved in advance at an agreed price. Hertz non pre paid rates are generally more expensive than pre paid rates, fully flexible and can be cancelled or amended without penalty.

Non pre paid rates are generally more expensive as they are subject to mandatory government taxes and local service charges.

What is included in the rate? Unlimited mileage, Theft protection, Collision damage waiver, Vehicle licence fund tax, local taxes, 24 hour roadside assistance and free reservation amendments.

Why do I see additional surcharges when I book on line - I thought I had an additional driver free?

General visitors to the Hertz website do not receive the same discounts and benefits as Saga customers – such as a free additional driver over 40. That is why when you are booking your Hertz Vehicle you may see messages that refer to additional surcharges that as a saga customer you do not need to pay.
